Wicked Sharp Cheisels, Planes, Oh My!
Hard Arkansas Stone 8" x 3" x 1/2", Black
This is my go to stone for sharpening. I achieve great results quickly and consistently. As for others with concerns of flatness... Well I'm ok with 1/1000 @ 6". Heck I don't have anything to measure that gap anyways. Best part is you're buying a USA product from a small business owner. It's difficult to find tools and accessories made in the USA and I want to encourage others to support producers of quality products.

I use this for sharpening edge tools in my work shop. The stone was not flat right out of the box. There was a crown right down the middle that was several 1/1000's high. My plane irons and straight edge rocked back and forth on it when I checked it. I flattened it out so that the stone is useable for a wide plane iron but it took over an hour. For the price I think it should have been flatter than it was.

Cut with a chain saw?
The stone is of decent quality but the stone must have been cut with a chain saw. To flatten this thing will require at least a 1/4 inch of stock removal. Save your money and buy a good diamond stone instead.
