It's a chisel nothing fancy
Irwin Blue Chip Chisel, 1/8"
I needed an 1/8" chisel to clean out the dados I cut in picture frames for the corner splines. The only place I could find this in stock was Wood Crafters. There were 2 on the peg the first one I picked up to look at you could see that the blade had a bow in it, so I grabbed the second one and it looked OK. Got it home, checked the sharpness and of course it needed sharpening. Well I thought this shouldn't take too long it's on an 1/8" chisel. It took a little over an hour to finish the job. I use sand paper and a granite block. While removing the mill marks and flatting the back I found the blade has a very slight twist to it. Anyway I got it sharp and started using it. I noticed the handle seemed big in my hands, I wear large gloves so my hands are not small. The chisel also felt long when presenting it to the work piece. I wouldn't recommend chopping deep mortises and prying out the chunks in hard wood but it works like a chisel should.

Nice chisel, works well
Current project involves cutting thin mortices in steamed beech and it performed well here. I sharpened the chisel before use and it has held it's edge longer than I expected while working on this hardwood. Overall I'm pleased with this new addition to my tool set.
great small chisel
Great for tight places
Keep it simple
A relative gave me a sofa table that showed years of abuse by the children including "stuff" in the groove around the top. The width of the groove is 1/8". When I found this chisel on Woodcraft, I purchased it. My thinking is to start with a simple solution first. The factory edge worked well to clean the bottom of the groove, and I used a wider chisel for the sides of the groove.
Good chisel at the price

Very decent chisel. Back reasonably flat and required only a little work to lap. Steel sharpens quickly and holds reasonable edge. Would switch from 25 bevel (factory) to 30 degree for better edge durability. Good for handwork, paring and the likes. Won't hold up to hard usage (don't use it with a hammer - not designed for that). I bought to add to my set of 6 Irwin I already own. I've been pleased with the service I've gotten after spending the requisite time to tune them up.
Does the job
I found the 1/8" chisel great for cleaning out 1/4" routed slots. So far its kept a decent edge, and will take some punishment.
