This bit works
9/16" Forstner Bit
I had recently purchased a similar bit from another supplier and when I got it was dismayed at the lack of quality. So far I have no such complaints about this one from Woodcraft it works like it is supposed to. Both bits looked similar and both were made in China (no surprise there) but one works fine and the other was a real lemon. Add the fact that this one was a little less expensive and with Woodcraft's 90 day guarantee I will keep coming back again and again. In all fairness the other outfit did issue a full refund but I would have rather had a bit that worked without the hassle. A lesson learned...

I do a lot of pillar bedding jobs on rifle stocks which requires drilling 9/16" diameter holes in place of the 1/4" holes. I've been using piloted counter bores in my press but these are NOT cheap ($50-$100+!)! I found these and decided for $5 to give them a try. I have used these on walnut, maple, laminate, and synthetic rifle stocks with excellent results! Perfect concentric holes that are cut super clean! Bit never burns the wood at all just goes right through! For the money you simply can't beat these! I'll be ordering 10 more to keep as spares :).
Decent quality at a frugal price

It's hard to find 1/16-increment forstner bits without paying $20 or more. The Wood River line fills the need with a reasonably-priced product that does an adequate job for most home woodworkers. Did a good job in end-grain walnut for me.

needed this bit to drill precision holes, and it done the job great. And it drill the last hole just as easy as the first hole. And the bit is as sharp as when I started,
