Not worth the money, IMHO
GlideCote 10.75oz. Aerosol
This product was suggested to me by a Woodcraft employee for protecting my cast iron tops in a non climate controlled garage shop area. I had high hopes, the stuff is not cheap and it sure should work well for that kind of money. I thoroughly cleaned my table saw top and applied the product exactly according to the instructions on the can. Two days later I was out in the cold sanding rust off of the top and trying again. Convinced that I had done something wrong I re-read the directions and re-applied the product after careful preparation. Same results! Not good! I noticed one review that suggested using this product and then applying paste wax for protection. HUH! The paste wax is more trouble and takes more effort to apply but it works better and lasts much longer and doesn't cost nearly as much. Why not just use it in the first place and forget this expensive stuff that, in my experience, doesn't seem to do much. The product also claims to "reduce sliding friction" and I will make no comment about that but my main reason for purchasing it was for the sealant and rust protection claims and I can't see that it does that at all. I'll just go back the old tried and true paste wax that I know works.

Best of the Best!
Jack of No. Caldwell

On a regular basis, cleaning your tablesaw top, bandsaw table,& your lathe bed are important and nessary! This product does the trick. After the application, I would suggest applying a good coat of wax to preserve the finish.

I would buy this product again and again
Fox Valley Wisconsin
I use this on all bare metal surfaces to prevent rust and to reduce friction; table saw, metal work bench, band saw. I also spray it on hand tools for outside as well as lawnmower blades to prevent rust.
I will buy this product rather than simi
Mt. Washington, KY
This product definitely outperforms others in its category.
The smoother your tools work the safer you are. This product is invaluable in my shop. Material moves smoothly over the table making for sharp crisp cuts. Helps prevent material catching and jamming causing a dangerous bind and possible kickback. A sharp blade and top cote helps make a safer and more professional shop possible.
I would buy again
keep rust off
Top Coat is a dry lubricant. Its very nice to coat all your steel or cast Iron table tops from your table saw to the band saw. It protects the surface while reducing the friction between the work piece and table top. I would also spray it on the underside of the miter gauge or any jig that uses the miter slot. Being a dry lubricant, you don't have to worry about sawdust building up on your gears and trunions.
properly named product
Does a great job of protecting my equipment in a humid garage. I have never had any rust on any of my equipment with using this product. Easy to apply and leaves a slick surface.
