Quality Matches Price...Cheap
Woodturning Project Kit for Cork Bottle Stoppers 10-Piece
One of the cork bottle stoppers arrived broken. The shipping box showed no sign of damage. Two others broke when inserting a (sanded down) 3/8" dowel. It is either a poor product, or I got a bad batch. I still have a few that I haven't touched yet, I don't know what will come of them. I wanted cheap price, not cheap quality.
Additionally, the corks only insert about 2/3 the way into a wine bottle. Ideally it would go in nearly 100% so that it does not detract from the decorative wood turning attached on top.
I ordered the cheap cork stoppers, rather than chrome or stainless steel for my first batch of stoppers because of the cost. I should have gone with a better quality product.

Some holes way off center, most in package were okay

Am purchasing again
Corks work well. Quaility is good
a little pricey
the price has gone up considerably since the last time I bought this item
Good economical choice
I followed the recommendation of the website and used a 3/8" dowel between the stock and cork. I would have liked it if the cork fit a little more snuggly on the dowel, but after gluing, it seems the cork is doing it's intended job. I did notice that some of the corks are not hollowed out exactly in the center. While this doesn't seem to affect the function, visually you can see that the dowel is off-center when looking at the cork from the end.
Learning to turn bottle stoppers
I did not list them as cheap materials in a negative way. They were inexpensive and great for the purpose I bought them for. I turned my first wine stoppers (as Christmas presents) and used the corks for the stopper part. It all turned out well, but I think once I am doing better at turning I'll go for a nicer assembly for the stopper. Or stick to the corks since I have so many and I'm a tightwad LOL.
They great for gifts .
They are simple and reasonable.
