Spring tools are simple, functional tools that no woodworker should be without. They are small tools, about the size of a pencil, that utilize a heavy duty spring for power. Simply pull the spring back and let it go—no hammer or striking tool required to set nails, mark drill points, or even clean the mortise out around door hinge. Made in the USA, Spring Tools are warranted by the manufacturer for the life of the tool. Comments about SPRING TOOLS Self Centering Center Punch :

You don't need a hammer, and it keeps you from having to have a hammer to screw in a screw. And the previous Review: When you purchased it did you not see that it was a 2 handed tool? All you have to do is put you hinge or whatever and put the point in place and since the hinge or other small part you can let go and it's not gonna fall so far that it moves the point, then with your free hand, pull the spring back and your done! Then on to what your doing, whether you screw in a screw or drill, your on your way to finishing faster than having to use a hammer. (Even though my hammer is my favorite tool... :-)

Comments about SPRING TOOLS Self Centering Center Punch :

Seems gimmicky at best and requires the use of both hands to activate center punch. Difficult if holding small pieces. Better action with spring loaded, downward thrust, punches. Open spring does not seem like the safest design.
