I read other reviews of this product where people were complaining about the wing nuts not holding. I had no problems. Jig worked well and can't be beat for the money.

Not long enough to taper table legs. Locking mechanism is designed poorly and does not stay locked. Does not come with any directions.

    Comments about Taper Jig :

I bought this to cut some trim for a 4:12 pitch roof. As supplied it won't do that angle. I added a fixed location hole above the existing one to get wider angle cuts. As I looked at the hardware I saw the issue with the inability by some to tighten it up properly. The square part of the carriage bolt protrudes above the metal frame. My solution was to use longer bolts and tighten them in place with an aerolock nut (nylock) to keep the bolt tight. I then added a washer, the supplied bracket, another washer, a lock washer and the wing nut. I actually bought a plastic knob with a metal threaded insert which presents a small problem of needing to make sure the knob doesn't hit the fence. The unit stayed locked in place while I cut the trim and it was fairly easy to set it up with the fence. For the price it is worth buying. As for accuracy, use the actual measurements and mark them on the piece you are cutting.

I bought the tapering jig to cut the side frames for a boat. It could also be used to cut tapered table legs.
