Caesalpinia platyloba. Chakte Viga, also known as Mexican Pernambuco, is very easy to work. It has a nice orange color that darkens with time and often is strongly iridescent. A moderately hard wood, it is easy to work and has a slight odor when working. Grows in Central America
Turns light when fresh cut, but turns orange again soon
