General Tools EZ Pro Dovetail Jig, Model 860
I'm a beginner wood worker, purchase this jig for half blind dovetail only for building cabinet drawers and it work fine for me. I have other jig ( keller) but only makes thru dovetail. this is just a tool it's the operator that counts. so read and practise, and practise. I'm ordering their jig for mortise and tenon

Needs some rework but makes great joints
Fort Lupton, Colorado
I redesigned the clamping system so it would hold solid by simply putting some sandpaper between the plastic cap and the wood. This works well, but I ended up reworking the clamps to hold the work solid. I have no idea why the designer thinks a smooth plastic cap would hold the wood, but it doesn't. If you turn the screws too tight, the unit will flex, and not have enough pressure on the other screw. Also you have to watch the videos on the tube place to really see how it works. You set the depth of cut by the cutter you are using, and the depth on the fixture by the thickness of the wood. Once you get it dialed in, it makes a fantastic, tight-fitting, good looking joint. I find it works much better on my router table then trying to hold the router. Once dialed in, set up and alignment is fast and simple.
Not as easy as promoted.
Peterborough, Ontario, Canada.
The instructions are very confusing. e.g. adjust "slightly" up, then adjust "slightly" lower. Make a 2 part setup piece, but you have to change the settings "slightly" for each part, and cannot get back to the earlier "slight" adjustment. Clamping system is totally inadequate, you are warned to NOT over tighten, as this bends the jig out of shape, yet the wood slips and slides around. I just see that the Dovetailer II is now on the market, but I still see a similar weak clamping set up, plastic depth adjusters that should be metal, and 2 tiny screws holding the depth gauge. The couple of small improvements that I see, still fall short of making this a strong useful jig.

your locked into one spacing, but well worth it.

Hard to use. The grips dont hold the wood tight enough and the it vibrates loose so none of the cuts line up. I tried several ways to gat it to do anything and eventually gave up. [$] paperweight.4
