Seam Ripper Kit Chrome
This is an update to my earlier review. I've made and sold several of these.
A couple of hints for assembly. After gluing up, I use a rotary tool with a small brass brush to clean up the ends of the brass tubing. I also spray some silicon on a cotton swab and spread it around the inside of the tube to make the O-ring easier to slide.
The O-rings are a pain to put on, and if lost or broke (and you will) it's really hard to find a replacement.
I usually don't put on the pocket clip. Some buyers have asked me to remove them. Also some users prefer a bit of a lip at the end to give them something to push against when ripping.
Nice kit and goes together well.

Pretty nice kit
I just finished a kit. It was the first time I ever turned this type of item (with pen/seam ripper mandrel). It was somewhat confusing when setting up the turning and mandrel, but it seem to end up OK. I think I got the wrong size bushing on the wrong end, and even after finishing it, I'm still not sure.
The clip isn't the handiest if you make a fatter handle. I had to bend it to fit better, but it works OK.
The O-rings are finicky to install and I have some reservations as to their durability. I used a rotary tool with a brass brush to clean up the inside of the brass tube before I put the sharp end together.
All-in-all, a pretty simple gadget. My quilter wife likes it, and has ordered some for Christmas gifts. If she likes it, I like it.
This is a good project but the o-rings tend to break easy. Use a little Vaseline to help protect the o-rings
