SawStop Dust Collection Blade Guard
I think this guard is terrific. I works perfectly on my Sawstop. I hardly have any sawdust when using this along with my dc. I just wanted to add my review because I believe the first review isn't a review and skews the rating of this item. When used exactly what it is designed for (a sawstop saw) it works great. Love my sawstop and blade guard with overarm dust collection.

By far the BEST guard of this type!
University of Rhode Island
After over 30 years working with tablesaws of all types and sizes, this is the FIRST Blade guard system that I would rate above one star.
Unlike all others I have envountered, we use this guard daily, for about 95% of the work we do. With any other tablesaw guard I have used, it gets in the way for too many operations and requires time to remove and install.
This guard is removed in a matter of seconds for cuts that can not be used with it ( tennoning jigs etc) and re installs in seconds as well. (no exageration)
I teach freshman college students to use all the tools in the shop. For years we used a Unisaw, and despite teaching VERY safe methods (perfect track record - knock on wood -) we did not use the Uniguard. It was a show peice for OSHA only, and always in the up out of the way position.
Now, not only do I have the unique safety features of the SawStop system itself, I am VERY pleased to say we use this guard with it's excellent additional safety features 100% of the time that students use the saw.
Completely enclosing the blade in the plastic cover, it is not only a perfect guard, it has the best dust collection of any overarm I have worked with. It protects you from flying saw dust and chips, it's anti kickback features are superb, and the plastic guard is the most adaptable of any guard I've used, always getting up and over the material with ease and virtually no added resistance.
I usually do not comment on other reviews, but it's a shame someone that tried to use this on another brand has given it one star. Having never had the chance to actually use this guard, the review should not have been posted. That reviewer is truly missing out. Part of why it won't work on a Powermatic or any other saw is how seemmlessly and integrally it is incorporated into the SawStops design. This ease of use and integration could not be equalled in a 3rd party one size fits all design.
If you have a SawStop, you should also get this guard and you WILL use it more foten than not.
SawStop on SawStop only
HandCrafted by Charlie
I asked woodcraft if it would fit my Powermatic table saw who referred me to SawStop. I talked to SawStop technical service reprehensive but he did not know. I'm a retired mechanical engineer and thought I could adapt it to my saw. Come to find out the dust collector attachment on the SawStop's table saw moves up and down with the blade adjustment where the Powermatic's blade guard attachment is solid to the table. SawStop's dust collector blade guard only fits SawStop table saw.

A very effective solution
Lattices in Wood
I was surprised to see that there was no review for this yet. I have used it for a few weeks, ripping several hundred feet of stock, and it has proven very satisfactory. Like all top guards, it's in the way- but dust collection is very good to excellent.
-Dust collection is excellent down to the last ~2 inches of the cut,
-The claims of minimum rip dimension are just about right,
-The long kick back pawls lock up out of the way when not needed,
-The guard vibrates significantly until the stock hits the riving knife,
causing some blade chatter.
-The pivoting "skirts" sometimes bind when cutting very small stock (1/2" x 3/4)
-It really needs an auxiliary low profile fence when ripping less than about 6/4. (easy enough)
-It is not the same thickness as the standard riving knife- making fine adjustment problematic.
Unless I threw them out with the box, there are no instructions. There are some non-obvious aspects here. Like what is that great wire thing doing?
Admitted: other than that it's pretty obvious.
All of the issues are minor. This works quite well as a dust collection solution, and it is a very tolerable guard.
It appears to be robust, and I expect it to hold up reasonably well.
It looks as well thought out as the saw, which is very well indeed.
Without the vibration issue, which may be unavoidable, it would be a 5 star.
