    Comments about Milescraft TurnersPress :

The piston support is weak and will bend under load causing the piston to come out of alignment with its mate. Once this happened I was able to bend it back into alignment however I see that this press can not be used for pressing larger pens that require more force to press together. If all you make is slimlines or 8mm's I might advocate this press but if you make the larger more expensive pen kits you will not be happy with this press. I ended up swapping the lever from my older red PSI press which bolted right on without mods and has a cast cylinder for the piston that won't bend. I've pressed a couple of pens and it seems to work ok.

    Comments about Milescraft TurnersPress :

The stanchions are nice for changing the size easily, however, that's where the fun stops. I just returned the third press. First one did maybe a dozen pens, second one did about 15, the third one did only 8 before something went wrong, usually where the piston goes through the sleeve that's meant to sturdy the piston. It says it can take up to 300# of pressure. I got no where near that amount of pressure and it continued to break. I was told that many others had returned tyhe press for the same reason. I've heard the one similar with knobs to change size is just as bad. I'm just glad I was able to get replacements and an eventual refund for this one.

    Comments about Milescraft TurnersPress :

Right out of the box I noticed every single fastener was only hand tight. I had to go around the whole unit with screwdrivers and wrenches before I even used it. First use pressing together a "designer" pen and the press bent in such a way that the piston was pressing upward not straight toward the stop. Luckily no damage to pen. Weak support mechanism for the piston. The aluminum flip-up stops are nice and if you only do LIGHT pressing it works fine, anything heavy and it bends.

The press is not lined up with the stop. The first time I used the press it bent. I like the idea of the stops that flip but the support for the piston is weak.

    Comments about Milescraft TurnersPress :

I love the design and function of this tool. The spring loaded ram helps hold things in place while I adjust, and the adjustable length is fantastic. My old pen press had a knurled knob right next to a block of aluminum that was guaranteed to shred my knuckles if my hand budged even slightly. This is a great replacement. Costly, yes... but you get what you pay for. This will last years and do the job VERY well.
