This is a great drill. Powerful; lightweight; terrific design; great features. However, the chuck does not accommodate a 3/8" shank. This effectively renders any drill bit I own over 5/16" not usable. What were the German engineers thinking? If they want to sell to an American market, they need to accommodate American drill bits. This is a show stopper if you have a large drill bit collection as I do.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

This is a great drill, its light weight and powerful. It has a handy clip to hook on to your tool belt or pocket and it's so light weight you'll forget it's there. The only down side is the chuck size it's the metric equivalent to 3/8" which I have found annoying on occasion.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Love it great power for the size can do just about any thing the other adapters that come in the kit are great, made simple work of replacing all of the cabinet hardware. The light weight and the design of the handle reduce fatigue a lot, I have the dewalt XRP as well and it is a great drill but it is rather heavy. My wife loves the drill as well, and festool has not made a pice of equiptment that I have not throughly enjoyed to work with.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
