Comments about Rockwell BladeRunner :

I purchased this from Loews and returned it after several weeks. At first it did not cut straight, so from on-line suggestions finally got it to cut straight. I bought better blades. If you try and cut something that just goes past the blade, the piece your cutting starts bouncing up and down. I decided for me it was unsafe and a waste of money and space.

Comments about Rockwell BladeRunner :

I have this attached to the garage wall for quick cuts of this and that. Will it cut like a quality band, table, or scroll saw? Almost. Because of the power yo have to take your time, which I have plenty of. What I do not have is lots of space. No fair comparing this to dedicated saws, but is a great compromise of design and function. Bought one for both of my sons for Xmas.

Comments about Rockwell BladeRunner :

I took a chance that it would be a helpful/quick additional cutting tool, but it is a waste of space and time. Buy a much less expensive jig saw or similar for a more functional use. Won't perform any type of quality cutting on anthing but basic material. Buy a less expensive table saw for a few $$$ more and be much happier.

I got a lemon!!

Pros

Cons

  • Poor Design

Comments about Rockwell BladeRunner :

Unable to align blade center of guides. Blade chattered. Tried to adjust blade between guides using tool directions, nut came off inside arm. Had to take arm apart to put nut back in place (poor engineering). Miter gauge is sloppy fit in grove. Overarm limits cutting capability. Finish cut was not 90 degrees. Treads for screws that attach arm to table were poorly threaded. Had to work screws a bit to use them.

Very nice tool for what it's designed to do. It fits right into my shop and I'm so glad I have it. My wife can use it without my help and if you remember what it's designed to do - then it will work just great! Run it full speed and you'll have no problems with chatter or vibration!

Comments about Rockwell BladeRunner :

Something I thought about some years ago was an upsidedown jig saw with a table like a table or band saw. Very easy to set up and use. Uses standard 4" jig saw t-shank blades and has a miter gauge with perpendicular tracks for a variety of uses. Great product. The included wall bracket allows it to be placed just about anywhere in the shop.

Too much whiz and not enough band

Pros

  • Easy To Use
  • Good Design
  • Great Blade

Cons

  • Hard To Use

Best Uses

  • In The Workshop

Comments about Rockwell BladeRunner :

Difficult to cut a straight line even with the miter guage. Will not take the most popular Bosch blade, the T308b. Because the blade cuts in both directions, the board jumps up and down with a lot of chatter.
