Product Information:

Model 50-150 RIKON introduces a new bench top combination sander to their lineup. Powerful 1/3 HP totally enclosed fan cooled motor spins the 5" disc at 3,450 RPM and the 1" x 30" belt at 3,340 SFPM for fast stock removal. The large 7- 1/4" x 3- 3/4" cast aluminum disc table tilts 0-45º. The belt table tilts for chisel sharpening. Removable belt platen allows sanding of curves or odd-shaped material. The solid steel base utilizes rubber feet and strong cast aluminum frame for minimal vibration and maximum rigidity. Includes two 1- 1/2" dust ports.

Comments about Rikon 1" Belt x 5" Disc Sander :

I use the machine primarily for crafts produced on my scrollsaw and for intarsia. The 1" belt is perfect for sanding where a 4" belt is too big and too strong. Delta also had a good machine but they no longer make the 1" belt sander.

Comments about Rikon 1" Belt x 5" Disc Sander :

Over the years I have wished I had a strip sander so when mom asked what I wanted for birthday, I reuested this sander. Should have requested something else. Miter gauge is cheap and does not fit snugly and has no option to adjust. Sanding table has to be attached. One side had two pre drilled holes, the other side had one. Seems both sides should have same nmber of screw holes. Instructions did not explain which holes to use.

This tool allows a lot of flexibility and greatly increases the speed at which I can carve and shape my lures. I've used it for hundreds of other small projects. It's great for making custom tools out of all sorts of materials. Just let your imagination run wild.

I only used it to sand the edges of 50 plexiglass rectangles. It seemed to do a fine job.

Comments about Rikon 1" Belt x 5" Disc Sander :

I have research and tested almost all of the small belt/disk sanders out there. The Rikon out performed all of them. If you are looking for a real tool for your woodshop, and do not want to buy junk, give this little sander a try.
