Product Information:

Contains (2) 56″ Guide Rails, (1) Guide Rail Connector and (1) pair of Guide Rail Clamps to create the perfect guide rail system for ripping and cross-cutting 4′ x 8′ sheet goods.

This system will allow you to place a tool guide for ripping, crosscutting or routing at an acute angle on any size panel. 56" Guide rail component features same heavy-duty aluminum extrusion used in the WoodRiver clamp guides. Guide rail component has 2-1/8" x 1/2" profile with integral 1/4" T-tracks. Guide rail connector locks together multiple guide rails to form a continuous guide for your circular saw or router across any length material. Guide rail clamps secure the guide rail at each end. Clamps swivel about the “T” shaped anchor at any angle. Clamps can be placed at any position along the underside of the guide rail extrusion. Unique angle jig acts as a miter gauge for the guide rail system. The angle jig references any angle from the edge between plus or minus 60 degrees. The angle jig has positive stops at 90 degrees, plus or minus 30 degrees, plus or minus 45 degrees and plus or minus 60 degrees.

    • Nice clamp system

    Cons

    • Not rigid enough

Comments about WoodRiver Guide Rail 4' x 8' Kit :

I watched the video which stated that it was very rigid and bought it at the local Woodcraft. Guess what? It isn't that rigid. My first 8 foot cut with a jigsaw was pretty curvy. Should track better with the circular saw. It flexes too much. Other than that it works well. The clamping system is tight and out of the way.

It is pretty straight forward. I primarily use it to rip plywood since I don't own a table saw and it improved my line cutting tremendously.

Comments about WoodRiver Guide Rail 4' x 8' Kit :

The rail connector mechanism could align the rails more securely. There was a small tendency for it to come loose. I'd like to see a more positive locking mechanism (using a cam perhaps). Of course, since there are no instructions, it is possible that I was doing something wrong. In the end, I cross braced the join between the rails to prevent absolutely any side movement, which worked well.

I buy many small items that are needed for my customers. [...] I have a small custom and furniture repair shop which prohibitives me from paying to much as I must pass it on to the customer.
