I have waited 9+ months to write a review on this Dowel jig. I feel that every product needs to be tested and used for a extended period before a honest review is written. I am a professional finish carpenter of 15+ years. I have amazed other carpenters that I work with, even the well seasoned ones with 30+ years under their belt with this Dowel Jig. This tool is absolutely flawless in design, the learning curve very easy, and it's perfectly accurate every time when used correctly. Trust me people, I use this tool 4 out of 5 days on the work week. I honestly don't know what I would do with out it now. Beats pocket holes, mortise and tennons, and biscuits. However, these still all have their place in woodworking, but the dowelmax seems faster....more accurate and will be your go-to-tool when fastening wood together. Only downfall is its price.

Other than the price, there is nothing about this product that I can complain about. The learning curve was almost instant and set up is so quick and easy that I felt like I've been using that Dowelmax for months only minutes out of the box. I bought this to use for attaching legs to head and foot boards on 3 beds and I couldn't have been happier.

Like it a lot. Not as useful in the middle of projects. Needs an edge to work most effectively but it is a great time saver as well as being able to place dowels very close to one another and thereby increasing the strength of the joint. You can and do sink some money on this and even more so when you purchase the 1/4" doweling capacity. Oh well, it's only money!

I have never written a review before but felt compelled to tell other woodworkers how effective and well made the dowelmax is. I even called the inventor to thank him. If accuracy, strength and ease of use interest you in your woodworking endeavers, this is the tool you will reach for. You get what you pay for and with Dowelmax you'll never have buyers remorse.

I used my Dowelmax to join the top of my oak workbench. The dowels were spaced ever 6 inches and when finished my top was so level I had only to sand and apply my finish. The Dowelmax is expensive but worth every penny. I am ready to purchase the 1/4 inch add on to complete the set.

Especially helpful for the beginner and intermediate woodworker. I am building a large patio table in natural cedar using 4x6, 4x4, and 2x6 material and will not use any screws, nails or fasteners. Dowelmax will make this task much easier and will help create a sturdy table.
