    I really wanted to like this bandsaw. I have always viewed the JET name in a positive light and I have a JET product which is very good for what it does. Also, the JET company is in Tennessee and I like to buy from companies that are located locally, which even though the product is made in China, JET still provides local people with jobs and that is good. I was very excited to put together my new bandsaw, which I received a few days before Christmas. I travel for business and had a few days to get to a few woodworking products during Christmas vacation. Well, after unpacking and assembling the JET bandsaw, it looks like my woodworking will have to wait and my vacation time will be spent on other things, thanks to the lack of quality and craftsmanship provided by JET. First of all the bandsaw has a crack in the base where it attaches to the stand. Not a big deal, or so I thought. This causes the bandsaw to not sit level and also provides for a very unstable frame. Not only is this poor quality, but also could pose a serious safety risk. After assembling the cast iron table and mounting it to the bandsaw, I found that no matter how I adjusted it, it does not sit level and will not stay secured with the adjustable angle mechanism. There is no apparent way to tighten the mechanism either, without disassembling the entire bandsaw, which sounds fun and probably will void the warranty which is probably going to be used repeatedly judging from the quality of this bandsaw. Don't waste your time, effort, or money on this cheap piece of...... Thanks JET for letting me down.

    This is by far the worst bandsaw I have ever seen. It is so underpowered that it has trouble getting through almost any species of 2" hardwood. With a brand new blade it will come to a dead stop at a normal feed rate multiple times on 2" hardwood turning stock unless you slowly finesse it through. I have a little Delta bandsaw that is half the size of this with a much smaller motor and it runs circles around this Jet. In fact, when I bought the Jet, it was so bad that I took it in to be serviced because I thought there was something wrong with it. If you want to cut anything harder than pine or other soft woods, buy something else. This was a very expensive paper weight. I also own 2 Jet Lathes and a Jet dust collector which I absolutely love. So I expected this bandsaw to be no different but unfortunately it was.

    Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

    Used to make adirondack chairs and other small projects. Uses 67 1/2 " blades with limited sources. Seems to be slightly under powered. Might just be me, I'm a fairly new band saw user. Saw seems to be of solid construction but might not suite really heavy user. I like it as semi-active craft person.

    I SAW PIECES OF WOOD FOR PEN BLANKS AND OTHER SMALL PROJECTS. HARD TO FIND BLADES FOR IT UNLESS THEY ARE CUSTOM MADE OR MAKE YOUR OWN, I DON'T KNOW WHY, IT COULD HAVE BEEN MADE FOR COMMON SIZE BLADES.
