After searching the net, I decided to go with this saw. You will not be disappointed. The tables are flat, assembly went fine, and out of the box it was less that 6/1000ths out of alignment with miter slots. Passed the penny test on the mobile base. Fence is as good as big money saws. Slides effortlessly and stays locked which is a big deal to me. I love the paddle switch for the off button. Very easy to get to without getting in the way. I look foward to many years of service.

Bought this saw about three months ago !! and I love it !! It did take me about a week to set it up and still had to tweek it acouple times to get it just right , the fence square to the blade and the riving knife. but I love this table saw because i like to make custom cabnets and built in shelfs. and this saw has the percision and power that most of the more comon saws on the market does not have.Way to go Jet!

This is an excellent saw for the money as it is very accurate and has a nice fence. Once you get it set up it is very nice to use and far nicer than my old craftsman. I did have a bad vibration problem and had to have woodcraft evaluate the issue which turned out to be a bad belt. They gave me a red linked belt and it completely eliminated the vibration. I can balance 4 nickels at once one with it running. [...]With a thin kerf blade on it cuts very smoothlyThis saw is nice for a small shop like mine. One other improvement would be a better sealed cabinet for dust collection but that is easy to fix. I am pleased with the saws performance

I was torn between this saw and a Grizzly. My power requirments, space, and local availability spurred my decision toward the Jet. The people at the Local Woodcraft are always helpful, informative, and will bend over backwards to make sure you've got what you want. The saw is a great machine, but this is from a guy who upgraded from a Hundred dollar benchtop, the difference is night and day. The blade is squared to the miter out of the box. The fence required a little tweaking to make it square on both axes, I'm still working on getting the cast wings level all the way across. The saw will not move once you put it in place. I wish I'd gotten a mobile base for it, but I decided on a Grr-ipper instead, I'm pleased with that choice. If you get this saw, or any saw for that matter I'd reccomend picking up a decent blade at the time of purchase, and don't even bother with the supplied blade. It's a difference of night and day. I went with a full kerf Freud Premier fusion, but find myself wishing I'd gone with a thin-kerf when I'm ripping some hardwoods like Mahogany and Rosewood. The accuracy of the saw, once adjusted is wonderful, and spot on repeatable. The fence action is smooth, and it locks down nicely. Even the supplied miter gauge is more than acceptable. I wish it came with a Riving knife, but I went ahead and installed an MG Splitter on a ZCI, and things are a lot simpler to use now. This is the saw that you can make your own, and it will do most anything you throw at it.

    Comments about Jet 10" ProShop 1-3/4HP 30" CW, Model JPS-10 :

Let me say first that the fellas at my local WC made the purchase of this TS a very pleasant one. First rate service and a genuine interest in their customer's opinions and needs. And now for the fun part... I have spent the last six months researching which type of TS I was going to invest in and narrowed my search down to this saw and I'm glad I did. I was looking into the hybrid category based on budget, features, semi portability, motor hp and most importantly owner re For me the most important features I was looking for were the t-square style fence, arbor lock, cast iron table top and extensions, paddle switch and a heavy duty trunnion system below. Another bonus of this saw is that the motor is located inside the cabinet so that contributes to a smaller overall footprint this saw will make in your shop. Packaging was well protected, comes in three boxes. Assembly takes about 4 hours. Plan on having help for some of the heavy lifting needed for assembly. Directions are very intuitive. I had to make minor adjustments to the fence to align it to the miter slots and square it to the table top. The table top itself needed no adjustment, perfect! Cast iron wings didn't even require shimming of any kind and were perfectly flat using my machinist straight edge. I already knew this was going to be a great saw. I'll be starting my kitchen cabinet project soon and know that this saw will be the anchor in my shop for this project. A few noteworthy features: The massive cast iron trunnion system. Another is the arbor pulley pivots at the same axes as the main pulley shaft which isolates the arbor raising mechanism from the rest of the trunnion assembly. This means that the raising and lowering of the blade is practically effortless on the operators part because the motor isn't being lifted along with the blade. The motor stays put always during this operation. Typical contractor style saws have the traditional rod style carriage trunnion system which is fine but JET has given this saw something extra when they outfitted this saw with it horseshoe shaped carriage system. The added weight shines as vibration is dampened and accuracy increases due to a more rigid overall trunnion.(For you guys out they that love the coin test, I tried them all and this saw passed with flying colors when performed anywhere on the table in any direction I could think of. BTW i even had the mobility base under the saw too!) Not everything is perfect; there are a few aspects that that leave something to be desired. First would be the rear rail which is great for helping the fence glide effortlessly along the table but complicates the possibility of adding an out feed table that would normally attach to the rear rail. Second, no riving knife. Third, the fence guide tube is a little on the light gauge steel side. What I mean by this is after repeated uses and having your fence locking lever adjusted too tightly will slightly create a concave dent all along the point of contact of the locking lever pad where it meets the guide tube. The clamping pressure only needs to be adjusted to mitigate this potential problem. The guide rails are very heavy gauge it would be nice if the guide tube was too. I would recommend the mobile base with the saw if you plan on wheeling it around often. Overall fantastic piece of machinery in my book. Great job JET!
