Designed to take on projects large and small, this 16" x 42" wood lathe has a cast iron bed and legs to eradicate vibration for more precise turning applications.

2 HP. 16" swing. 42" capacity between centers.

Electronic inverter enables operation at any speed between 0 and 3,200 RPM.

Digital readout makes it easy to monitor speed.

Headstock slides to the end of the bedway for easy outboard turning.

Spindle equipped with positive indexing in 10-degree increments means fast, efficient fluting or veining.

Built-in spindle lock enables quick and easy chuck and faceplate removal.

I can't begin to say how this has improved my turning (had the chase the old lathe across the room at higher speeds!). As my confidence increased the rpm's went up. No problems with motor or belt. But I don't like having to move the headstock to turn large bowls outboard. This is a quality lathe. The right size for both spindle and bowl work. Variable speed lets me turn at exactly the right rpm. As reported by "Richard the Turner" in Aug. 2009, I also had a bad motor which was replaced by JET with no hassle. I had to swap it myself but it wasn't difficult. My replacement motor has been flawless for 9 months. And like Richard, I also love my lathe and hope that I continue to have good service from the replacement motor.
