Comments about PORTER CABLE Pin Nailer Kit Model PIN100 :

The Porter Cable has been pinning non-stop (pins being a clamp where you can't usually add one) with no signs of even slowing down, let alone falling apart. It appears to be well-designed and very well built. We own a working brain, so we don't really need a manufacturer "helping us" with safety triggers but eh, whatever. After putting up with the louder Freeman pinner ($55), we realized that we'd have been better off buying this P-C unit FIRST. That other unit left a bigger hole (but not too terribly bigger), and the kickback was a bit worse, but again just a bit. No, our main problem with the Freeman was its lack of durability. Barely 6 months after purchased, it quit working. Period. And, it did so in the middle of a project, causing a very stressful time-crunch. Even at less than half the cost of this Porter-Cable unit, it was NO bargain! Quality costs a bit of money. Always.

Comments about PORTER CABLE Pin Nailer Kit Model PIN100 :

This worked well for putting together picture frames (as a back-up to glue). I find two-piece safety triggers to be awkward, but useful and necessary - with practice, I would probably get used to it. This is the first pin nailer I have owned, so I cannot compare it to others. The loading instructions could be improved. You need to push the pin strip down into the slot through the middle of the rail until they will slide under the opening at the front of the slot. The instructions just tell you to load them into the side.

Comments about PORTER CABLE Pin Nailer Kit Model PIN100 :

I am in the process of building a book case and needed a pin nail gun for pinning the crown molding on the top of the case. Portable cable makes good product and I purchased this gun because of my positive experiences with their brad nail gun.

Comments about PORTER CABLE Pin Nailer Kit Model PIN100 :

I have a very small, portable compressor, and was afraid that it wouldn't supply enough air. However, I am able to shoot 18 - 20 pins before it kicks in. It easily seats them flush in white oak.
