INCRA Miter Gauge 1000HD
When my stock miter gauge got bent (don't ask!), I went shopping. I really didn't want to spend this much, but the reviews were so positive that I made the plunge.
After having installed and used it some, I agree with the rave reviews. This miter is significantly more capable than advertised.
Trying to save money by buying cheap actually costs more in the long run. Though expensive, this miter is a great value if you need precision.

Another wise decision!
Bought this today and I couldn't be happier. Spent the extra time setting it up as recommended and my first 90 degree cut was bang on the dot. As stated in the Incra videos, my original miter slide wasn't worth the effort of getting it out. No amount of adjusting could get the slop out of it. After extensive research and deciding on my budget, the Incra 1000HD was the obvious choice.I could see and feel the quality and craftsmanship right out of the box. Every test cut I made was perfect the first time. Every angle dead on. The flip stop performed flawlessly. Extended the fence to it's fullest and the bracing was straight, stiff, and secure. This is going to end up being worth every penny I spent. Thanks Woodcraft for having it in stock!
Great for my picyure frames
I make many picture frames that have more than four sides and this is a accurate as it can get. cuts my time for making (5,6,& 8 sided) frames a snap. People love the different shapes and now they go a lot faster.
great miter guage
Sawdust 4 blood
I bought this on sale at [$] which was less than the cost of the lesser equipped 1000SE. While not free, I consider this money well spent if you're like me and do a lot of work that requires precise length and angles. In the past I've always had to cut all the pieces slightly over length and then tweaked them in with a miter trimmer...a technique that works but isn't fast (they're also not giving miter trimmers away). This gauge lets you set up and cut things dead on the first time. Use a quality blade and install a sub-fence per the instructions and the results are neat and ready to glue up in a single pass. Everything was set accurately right out of the box. In what seems to be a rare exception these days, the instructions are clear and well illustrated in full color. It was easy to assemble and adjust to my Ridgid table saw. I also like that the kit included all the allen keys, extra measuring tape if you want to set up for use on the right side of the blade, and even the hardware to mount a zero clearance sub-fence. While I probably wouldn't recommend spending over a hundred bucks if all you're going to be doing is cutting 2x4s to build a picnic table, if you are looking for something that produces highly accurate, repeatable cuts, and is easy to use then you won't be disappointed with this one.
One of the best available
After struggling with an old oem miter gage and nicking my thumb as a result, the Incra has been a delight to use. It holds the wood where you want it and allows you to keep your hands clear. It also worked to perfection on my 17" band saw.
