Product Information:

Supercharge your old grinder with this incredible grinding wheel! For a smoother grind and cooler steel, go for a diamond wheel. The biggest perk is the aluminum body that works as a heat sink, making it difficult to burn an edge.

  • A perfect finish for turning tools
  • A great way to supercharge your old grinder
  • Don't forget - wheels matter!

Comments about WoodRiver Diamond Grinding Wheel 8" 120grit :

I have a 3600 RPM grinder and it works great on it since its not going to burn the tool edge. Could not use the big stock compression washers on my grinder because of wobble, I had to purchase machined washers and remove the grinder cover to get it as close to grinder motor as possible to reduce wobble. You don't need the cover since its not going to shatter like regular wheels. Diamonds in a resin so I am cleaing with oil rag and wire brush after serveral sharpenings

Comments about WoodRiver Diamond Grinding Wheel 8" 120grit :

I have never been particularly happy with my abilities at sharpening lathe tools but this diamond wheel yields results as if I were a pro. It makes getting a perfect edge every time a snap. It doesn't cut that fast but it is fast enough and as they say in the writeup, it is almost impossible to burn the tool. It is not cheap, but I think it is well worth the cost.

Very good finish and quiet in operation. Adjusting to almost invisible sparking and a lack of guiding spark line at edge of blade which I have used as a guide when approaching finalisation of sharpening process.

    Grinding enters a new age

Comments about WoodRiver Diamond Grinding Wheel 8" 120grit :

I haven't had it for long but my first impressions of the WoodRiver diamond grinding wheel are very favourable. All the claims that are made seem to be accurate; i.e. can't burn the metal, true, impressive finish, true, hard to wear it out, true. I think these Diamond wheels are about to revolutionise the process of sharpening tools on bench grinders and are certainly a very serious alternative to the likes of the Tormek wet grinding system. It's only early days so I will give it some more work the next week or so and report back.
