Product Information:

Spring is in the air, and it's time to spend some quality time outside—sitting down, of course! To serve this purpose, why not make a great outdoor bench that you can "plant" in the garden or on a patio? This classically-inspired bench is fun to make, and it's constructed using a weather-resistant wood. We chose cypress, because it's inexpensive, readily available, and known for its weather resistance. Other insect and decay resistant woods include redwood and cedar.

Comments about Garden Bench Downloadable Plan :

This was a really solid project...took a couple of months. I wound buying both online and paper versions. They are not quite the same, both is better than either. Some parts of this project were really tough. Aligns the mortises on the top and bottom back rails, getting the seat slat screwed in and forming the back legs all took a certain level of anxious worry. But all more or less worked out. I did add some inlays (I'll try to upload pictures). I built mine out of cedar wood (my garage smells awesome) with bloodwood inlays. It's not perfect but the next project will be better. All in all, a good learning project with some tough parts. Nice job, Woodcraft!

Comments about Garden Bench Downloadable Plan :

I built it at last...its been a couple of months. The back legs are harder to build than you'd believe and gettting the seat slats in was tough and there wasn't much space for a screwdriver (I wound up using a wrench). But it was very satisfying and I learned alot.

Comments about Garden Bench Downloadable Plan :

The wood proposed is not frequent in France. All dimensions in inches have to be convert in meters. The price is excessive for a plan like this. I'm going to redraw this plan and after try to use it. Next time I examine the project before purchasing. Gérard
