Watco Danish Oil penetrates deep into wood pores to protect from within and to enhance the natural look and feel of the wood. It creates the rich, warm glow of a traditional hand-rubbed finish.     Deep penetrating for vivid coloration

    I use this oil on wood that has been warmed up under a heat lamp or the sun to slightly over body temperature for deeper penetration. The wood should be kept saturated for at least 1 hour before wiping off the excess surface oil. Next allow the wood to cool to room temperature and dry for 5 to 7 days. Now the surface is ready for a light sanding with fine sand paper, cleaning, and the top coats of your choosing. This method brings up the deeper natural wood coloration in the grain that top coats alone can't. It has proven to provide great wood protection from water and stains over the years as the surface finish is scratched or nicked. I have used it for 10 years on floors and fine furniture with great results.

    I needed a finish to really pop the quartersawn grain on my project and this was recommended to me. It really did make the quartersawn grain stand out and gave the project a great natural color. As easy as wipe on, and wipe off excess. This finish soaks into the wood and dries inside. I applied Watco wipe on poly to protect the surface from spills after the danish oil dried.

    My hobby is turning on a wood lathe. There are alot of good products out there but I use the Watco Danish Oil for most of my turnings. Brings out the best in the wood grain and depending on how many coats you apply as to how deep of finnish you want. Very easy to use and for a final finnish take it to the buffing wheel,you will be amazed at the finnish you will get.

    Used on a bench made from pressure treated pine, that sat on a pier over the salt water for a year or more. The result of this experiment was amazing to me. It had deep penetration and a very nice color. I used 5 coats. I DO NOT recommend THIS use of the product yet, this was for fun and a learning experience.
