Product Information:

Use this Wixey digital protractor electronic angle gauge to get quick, accurate measurements of existing angles like mitered trim work, crown molding, roof slopes, and wall corners. This tool is particularly handy when measuring the true angle of inside and outside wall corners for tight fitting crown or base molding and chair rail miter joints. Large easy to read display reads angles from 0 to 180 degrees, and can be zeroed at any point in the swing of the protractor's leg. Whether you are measuring an odd, hard to reach angle or setting up your table saw blade, just read the angle measurement directly from the digital protractor. Each 9" long x 2" wide aluminum leg has built in magnets to help hold the protractor to metal surfaces.

I found this unit not that easy to use. For the desired angle to be set one needs quite a bit of force to tighten the locking knob which tends to move the set angle off [@]

Comments about Wixey Digital Protractor Electronic Angle Gauge :

Using it to set by radial arm saw. Could set compound miters (11 deg x 1 deg) very accurately. Only complaint is the poor locking - its more of an increase in friction than actual locking.

Comments about Wixey Digital Protractor Electronic Angle Gauge :

This is definately another great digital tool from Wixey. My only complaint is that there is no way to lock it in place when taking a measurement. If need be, it would make it easier to transfer the angle to a piece of wood, a bevel gauge, or some tool.

Comments about Wixey Digital Protractor Electronic Angle Gauge :

I have been watching this item for quite a while now but it was a little out of my price justification. I already have a Wixey Digital Angle Gauge and love it. The only issue I had with it is the battery. (I have now gotten over it!) So I watched and when the Angle Cube using the 9 Volt battery came on sale for [$] each I jumped at it and actually bought two. (From Another Vendor.) Once I got them I compared them to the Wixey Angle Gauge. The Wixey and my quality Square were in agreement to the angles and the angle cube was .4 Deg off. That is a big deal when trying to miter! So I returned the angle cubes and stuck with my Wixey. When the Wixey Digital Protractor went on sale during Christmas I was very confident on the quality of the product I would get. I have had it a couple of months and used it twice so far. It put a smile on my face both times. I am confident that I will get many years of good use from both of the Wixey products I have purchased. Instructions for filling out this review say that if it was a gift I should disclose it in my comments. OK OK it was a Christmas Gift - to Myself. :)

Comments about Wixey Digital Protractor Electronic Angle Gauge :

I've used this for some time now and found it to be problem free. It is best used in conjunction with Wixey's Digital Angle Gauge (Woodcraft #147281) for setting up a table saw or miter saw or for checking the spring angle of a crown molding etc. However, for measuring wall angles for mitering wall, chair rail or crown moldings there are better tools available. In those situations it is better to use an electronic protractor with (1) a lock button to save the measurement and (2) longer arms (18"-24")for getting a more accurate reading over a longer stretch of the wall. E.g., Bosch makes an excellent electronic protractor, bit it's pretty expensive.
