Comments about WoodRiver Adjustable Mobile Base :

I bought this for use with my Jet 14" Deluxe Pro Bandsaw. The stand was easy to assemble on a flat surface and the directions were OK. However, the outriggers on the band saw must sit on the base as well, rather than fit under and there is no support in the center. This makes the saw wobbly, so I have to wedge pieces of wood under it to make it sturdy in use. Also, the aluminum cams are not strong enough to use to lift the castors on their own. I have to use a wrecking bar under the stand frame to lift first, then I can operate the cam levers without breaking them. This design also tips the bandsaw almost scarily until both castors are in position. I CAN say that it DOES work as I am able to move the bandsaw around. I do not recommend for bandsaws, probably great for other machines. This stand is exactly the same as the Port-A-Mate Adjustable Mobile Base PM-1000 (Item #150782); so why it's $10 more, I don't know.

Comments about WoodRiver Adjustable Mobile Base :

Got this stand as a birthday gift to use under my grandfathers 1938 tilt table Delta contractors saw which also has a jointer mounted on the same table. The legs on the stand are approx 21"x 35". Odd size but the saw is 73 years old. Found that there was no combination of side pieces that when assembled would fit this saw table. Consulted the assembly instructions and found no help there. Bought a 36" length of 1 1/2" channel, drilled some holes and made a side piece. Back to the assembly instructions. Did I mention how bad the assembly instructions are? Fortunately assembly is pretty intuitive. After the holes were drilled in the channel, it only took about 20 min. to assemble. Using two floor jacks, a 1 x 4 and my son we got the saw on the stand. My first attempt to lower the casters resulted in two bent aluminum cam levers. I found that the only way to lower the casters was to lift one corner of the saw by hand and then operate the cam lever. Repeat for the other corner. Once the casters are down, the saw is easily moved and seems to work well. Raising the casters is not a problem since I have gravity working for me. This saw/jointer combo may be pushing the stand's capacity limits. This stand would no doubt work well with a smaller lighter tool.

Comments about WoodRiver Adjustable Mobile Base :

Bought one of theses to try out and was a bit disappointing. The stand tilts the tool when it is being used to move it due to casters picking up the base. This could be a real issue for taller tools. The cam levers pick up one side of the tool at a time further causing some concern on a tip over. Also the cam levers are aluminum and do not feel very substantial considering they are picking up whatever tool is mounted to the base one at a time.Adjustable "feet" on one end are provided for leveling purposes and were a nice touch and would have been nice on both ends rather than one. Once mounted to my Powermatic 12" disc / belt sander combo it feels sturdy at rest but I do have a real concern that it may not hold up if used to move it too often due to the cams used to lift the casters into play.Time will tell. Assembly was not to difficult but there are a lot of nuts and bolts. Be sure to assemble it on a flat surface with attention to it being "flat" on the upper side so as not to cause "sag" in the frame and check to make sure it is square. Directions inform you to make it 1" bigger than the tool base but I found this to be untrue.

Comments about WoodRiver Adjustable Mobile Base :

The assembly instructions were not totally accurate. The nuts for the 1/4" bolts required a metric wrench. This was not noted in the 'tools required' section. This caused a minor irritation during assembly. The four corners could be bolted directly to the bottom of the legs on my stand. I did not have to used the perforated side straps. This made for easier assembly and a more sturdy setup.

Comments about WoodRiver Adjustable Mobile Base :

I have been doing wood work for years and got tied of moving equipment and scratching the floor. I put one under a 150# cast iron bandsaw and moved the saw over a concrete floor with no problem. I will be getting one more for my floor standing drill press. The only con, it took three hands to assemble. Best to assemble on the floor or flat surface.

Comments about WoodRiver Adjustable Mobile Base :

I easily assembled this Mobile Base in my kitchen. When I took it into the garage to install on my table saw, there was no way to attach it to the base of the saw. The table saw just sets on top of the Mobile Base. If I would have to pick the saw, to move it up a step or over a threshold, it will separate from the Mobil Base. Then I would have to lift and re-position the table saw onto it. Other than that minor point, I am very happy with this product. It is very easy to use and the front wheels lift up when you want to use the saw.

Comments about WoodRiver Adjustable Mobile Base :

This product is great - especially for the price. I bought one for my table saw a couple of years ago. Now that I have built a new shop, I bought another for a cabinet that I will make for my planer and jointer. I love the adjustable sizes for the frame, the durability, and the ease of use of this product. I definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for a mobile base for their tools.

Comments about WoodRiver Adjustable Mobile Base :

The Woodcraft techs said it would fit my Porter Cable band saw. WRONG!! You have to cut the base pieces for width and also cut your base storage door on the bottom all the way into the lower hinge to open it. Fortunately I also needed a mobile base for one of my table saws. After again cutting the width and redrilling some sizing holes it works well on the craftsman table saw.

Comments about WoodRiver Adjustable Mobile Base :

This mobile base is in use under my planer table, and makes the planer infinitely more useful. While the instructions could have been clearer, it came together well in the end. I had initial reservations about it's performance, but it is living up to it's description.
