Even though the two set screws were very tight, my 1.5" forstner bit started slipping. Then I remembered reading a suggestion to slightly flatten one side of the round shaft on a grinder. This gave the set screws someplace to grab and the slipping was eliminated. Recommend to not get too agressive with large bits to avoid twisting the shaft and snapping it.

I don't like it. It wobbles too much when drilling thru holes. I made a better one from 3/8" id steel tubing by drilling two wholes and tapping for 2 allen screws. Works really well. I have made two for half the price of this one. (1) 5" and (1) 10"

when out toward the 3 0r 4 inch range starts to wobble and wander of center. needs to be a little beefyer in the shaft. but you get what you pay for

I don't know about all Forstner bits, but my set has a cylindrical shaft, which is difficult to grip. I simply ground a bevel on one side for the Allen screws to contact and there is no slippage even at the end of a long bore.
