Product Information:

The most complete edition of the finest wet stone sharpening system available, the T-7 is rated for continuous use and has a vast array of specialty jigs available so you can quickly and easily sharpen virtually any tool in your house, backyard shed or workshop. The heart of the T-7 is the Tormek SG-250 10" x 2" grinding wheel turning at a slow 90 rpm through water which acts as a lubricant for faster grinding while it continuously cools the tool edge to prevent "bluing" the metal. After grinding, the 8-3/4" x 1-1/4" genuine leather honing wheel gently removes the burr and hones the edge to razor sharpness. The T-7 System also includes the Angle Master, Honing Compound, Stone Grader, Diamond Truing Tool, Square Edge Jig, Handbook and Instructional DVD. The Hand Tool Kit includes the Knife Jig, Long Knife Jig, Scissors Jig, Axe Sharpening Jig and Short Tool Jig.
Seven-year warranty.

  • 5 Jigs to sharpen knives, scissors, axes, and short chisel and carving tools
  • Square Edge Jig to sharpen chisels and plane blades more easily than ever
  • Durable drive wheel with proprietary rubber compound
  • Stainless steel main shaft

Comments about Tormek T-7 Hand Tool Kit :

I have struggled with sharpening for a long time. Though I can get good results on my planes and chisels, it has never been enough to truly realize the potential of my growing hand tool collection. Since I had spent the price of this Tormek or more on stones, grinders, jigs, granite plates and lower cost sharpening systems, I bit the bullet and took a chance. Day one I have the sharpest chisels and planes I have ever experienced. It has allowed me to do things I used to struggle with. Unlike many, I don't want to spend time sharpening and learning the fine points of the craft. I don't care about it - I just want sharp tools. I decided to go all out and add the set for knives, scissors... thinking in some weak way it would justify the price to sharpen things for the whole house. So, is this for everyone? Certainly not. The price is, I think, absurd. I am almost embarrassed that I bought this. However, like Festool and Lie Nieslen, there is a level of quality and design associated with the outlier high price, but I think Tormek is being a bit greedy here. I think they could provide a complete chisel and plane solution with their smaller model at a lower price point, but since it lacks essential jigs and tools, it ends up being less cost effective than buying the big brother. That's unfortunate. Still, if you can afford it, it is worth it in the end, but it does hurt.
