Product Information:

Two 12 tooth outer blades and three 2 wing chippers, shims, a carrying case and instructions.

Get Freud quality and craftsmanship in a stacked dado blade set, but at a wobble dado price! The negative hook angles make flat bottom grooves and virtually splinter-free cuts. The Pro Dado has two outside blades with five two-wing chippers which make it ideal for underpowered saws, because it requires less power to feed. All blades and chippers feature Freud’s antikickback design and can be resharpened. Capable of producing grooves from 1/4" to 7/8", this dado set comes with a shim set and carrying case, as well as instructions on how to make basic dado sizes.

    Good set up for the money. If you can afford to spend more and need the best cuts, I would buy the better blades but this set will work just fine for most applications.

    This was the first Dado set I ever owned and to this day still use it. Cuts great, sharp and durable. It's a great set for the money. I know there's more expensive and better Dado sets out there and I will upgrade eventually. But, for [$]it works great!!!

    One of the outer blades cuts "half a red cat-hair" deeper, which is annoying to sand out, but I plan to experiment with rotating that component to see if this flaw will disappear.

    I have been into woodworking for several years but only recently was able to devote the kind of time I wanted. I usually had the attitude that a blad is a blade is a blade. That has ablsolutely changed with my purchase of the Freud Dado set. I have never experienced such clean and accurate cuts before. It was more expensive than the last dado set I had, but would have been worth it at twice the price. You get what you pay for has a whole new meaning for me.

    This dado set has been working great for me. It makes nice clean, sharp cuts in plywood and comes with an ample set of shims for dialing in an exact width. I'm sure there are better dado sets out there, but the Freud is very good for the price. The only downside may be that the chippers are only two toothed versions as opposed to the four-toothed chippers of the Freud Super Dado set.

    As of his moment, this is the most frustrating tool I have ever owned. Although this is advertised as a 5/8" arbor, it must be a little smaller than that. My Freud dado blade is now firmly stuck to the arbor of my table saw, even after about an hour of every kind of coaxing I know, short of taking a torch and heating it. That is probably what is next, though I have to remove every speck of sawdust before I do, so I don't burn up my saw. All my other blades fit my saw perfectly, so this has to be Freud's fault. I'm guessing that Freud machined this to 5/8" and then got overzealous with the chrome plating. Whatever the reason, I won't be buying a Freud blade again. This was one of the less expensive dado sets around. I guess it was more cheap than inexpensive. You get what you pay for.

    Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
