I'm a retiered machinist & getting into woodturning. Needed something for protection from wood dust from exotic woods. The Trend is way out of my price range so thought I'd try this. Others said it isn't easy to wear glasses with it. I have ultra light glasses with a different nose piece that almost clears the mask. I can use it, but it isn't comfortable. Also, you cant use a face shield with this mask on, it sticks out too far, and you cant use regular safety glasses with it either. The wire to the battery case is too short to reach my belt and gets in the way if I put it in my shirt pocket. The head straps are uncomfortable too. One has a bunch of plastic nubs sticking out of it that are very uncomfortable on the top of my head. And I still have a good head of hair. Those that are bald or almost bald will find it very uncomfortable. The little buckle on the lower strap around the back of my neck gets tangled in my hair and hard to un-hook it to remove the mask. The mask is also on the small side and hard to get it to fit around my nose, mouth, and chin. Might be able to adapt it to a face shield that has the built in dust filters and use it that way. So, to use it you have to go without eye protection. So the choice is between dust protection with out eye protection, or eye protection and get something else for the dust. Overall I'm very dissapointed in it. Specially for what I paid for it.

Used on the wood lathe and on the bandsaw for the fine dust. Also used working on my expeimental plane, sanding the glass cowling.

The face piece is stiff and only touches at a couple points on my face. The fan is noisy but not necessarily loud. The facepiece is so poor fitting that the fan causes a continous escape of air right up into my eyes. I was hoping that it could be used either with or without the fan, but due to the poor face piece it couldn't possibly function for me without the fan blowing air out of the gaps. Unfortunately I have to continue my search.

Did not last very long, the motor went of in about two years. Still got a lot of dust in my eyes, rubber did not seal well around my nose. My cousin got the Trend and loves it, it is a lot more money, but if you are anything more the a casual hobbyist spend the extra money and get something that will do the job properly and last.

I'VE BEEN WORKING IN A CLOSED,HEATED SHOP PRIMARILY WITH AROMATIC CEDAR. NO ODOR, ONLY FRESH AIR WHILE WEARING THIS MASK. BEST SAFETY INVESTMENT I'VE MADE.

I am an asthmatic. Most other air filtering products I used made it difficult to breathe. So I typically used a simple nuisance mask while sanding. Unfortunately I did not know that the dust from spalted maple contains mold spores making it toxic! I was hospitalized 10 days as a result! This respirator not only filters but also introduces a constant supply of clean air making breathing easy. I wore this respirator after hospitalization while vacuuming my shop from top to bottom. I experienced no ill effects getting rid of the remaining toxic dust thanks to this respirator. The only problem I encountered was some interference with my glasses. Adjusting the respirator downward helped some. The batteries were still functioning after 4 hours of use. A respirator is obviously far less costly than a hospital stay!

Perfect protection from dust when working with power tools. It´s realtivetly cheap, even to import it to Sweden. I haven´t seen anything like it i Sweden. I have seen some kind of helmets with air thats make a similar effect, but those cost 100 dollar or more and is made for proffesional use, not for do-it-youselfer.
