Product Information:

Created to be easy to use and consistently outperform your expectations even on difficult woods like maple and pine. Only the finest ingredients are used to create the rich color, heavy body and longer open time that's the hallmark of these nonflammable dye/pigment blend water based stains. The rich colors enhance the beauty of the wood while the heavy bodied formula and longer open time makes it easier to control the depth and evenness of color. Hint: Natural is the base from which all the colors are made. Can be used to enhance the beauty of the wood like a stain prior to finishing but is primarily intended to be used to dilute the other colors.

Comments about General Finishes Water Based Wood Shaker Maple Stain, Pint :

Well, this was the first time I had ever used a waterborne stain. When I first opened the can I noticed that the stain was chunky; I thought maybe I received a bad batch [...] I went ahead and started using it. I applied it with a foam brush, let it set for a few minutes and wiped it off. The stain took well with NO blotching and dried pretty quickly. The chunky-ness went away while brushing on the stain. One thing to be aware of with this stain is to use caution while opening the can. For what ever reason they seem to be slightly pressurized will make a mess if you are not prepared.
