Comments about Varnish Oil, Pint :
Read a lot of reviews about this product. Some good, some not so good. My opinion, Good stuff. Looks like nothing else you can buy. Soft, smooth sheen. Not shinny, just a soft sheen. The more you rub the better it looks. And rub you will. I added a drier because some of my test boards did not seem to dry well. Do not add drier. It will kill most of the sheen and cause the finish to look like it is setting on top of the wood. Danish oil dried well in my shop, I just had some drying issues with the varnish oil. Keep in mind this is NOT a flood type finish. Small amounts are all you need. If you are using oak or walnut, something with open grain, you can apply a coat of shellac, when dry, sand it until you start getting wood dust. I did this and the finish dried well. I think the finish gets into the deeper grain and has a hard time drying.
