Nativity Scene, Plan No. 7
I was 14 years old when my father took on this very project of the nativity scene. I am now 39 years old and it is holding up as the day my Dad and I put this together. the trick from day one was to apply a protective coating every season, as my dad stressed. I have this now, that I set up every holiday with my own 3 children and it brings back so many memories. I live in a climate that has the harshest weather in the world and with time & patience you can keep forever. as well from day one we attached poles & base plates behind the figures to keep from direct contact to the ground. The corners are starting to show a little wear but I am sure it will last some time longer.

Best Nativity Scene award for last 4 yr
All the families on my street did a nativity scene as a project. It took a full weekend to glue on the full color cutouts and cut the plywood. We then put on a coat of polyurethane. After four years it is time to build a new set. The polyurethane did cause yellowing which I hope to avoid this time.

Some glitches, but pleased, overall.
Round Rock, Texas
As a previous poster noted, if you look at the posters in the box, the printing isn't as good as the promotional photos. In addition, not all creases in the poster come out, though the vast majority of them really do relax, after the glue dries. The faded color issue isn't as bad as it looks, though - once a clear poly coat is applied, the details pop out. Overall, I'd do it again.
Coloring of posters is very light (faded look).
Unable to toally remove creases in folded posters.
Posters not really weatherproof, as advertised. Application of protective coating required.
