Product Information:

A Brad Setter makes picture framing easier and faster, with results that look like your frame was assembled by a professional shop! It easily inserts both brads and framing points into wood frames up to 1-1/2" deep and 3" wide. The adjustable jaw has a magnetic tip on the side that drives the fastener, while the other side has a rubber pad to protect the frame from marring. The shaft is hexagonal to prevent the head from rotating.

    Totally agree with Mr. Dawson about the ill-placed magnet. This tool is, however, pretty good when it's working correctly. Driving a brad or nail into the back of a frame is effortless. My beef is with the wing nut. You can't finger-tighten it enough to keep the arm in place. One squeeze of the handle and it comes loose. Use pliers to tighten the wing nut - just take care not to strip the threads.

    This brad setter is a good idea and fairly well executed. It has one major problem: the magnet head does not reach the battom of the setter head, meaning that it won't hold brads flush to the backing in the frame. What a shame!
