Comments about Port-A-Mate Adjustable Mobile Base PM-1000 :

Went together without a hitch, but my planner stand is wide at the base and the wheels keep catching on objects as I move it around my shop.

Comments about Port-A-Mate Adjustable Mobile Base PM-1000 :

The directions for putting it together leave a little to be desired, a few additional pictures might be nice, but it wasn't hard to figure out. I highly doubt the 400# claim so if you are putting a heavy tool on it go to the next size up at least. I put a delta 14" open stand bandsaw on it and would say that the "true" weight limit is probably being slightly exceded. Nonetheless, it looks like it will work well in my cramped shop where space is always a premium. I am happy with my purchase and would recommend it to others provided they do not plan on puting too much weight on it.

Comments about Port-A-Mate Adjustable Mobile Base PM-1000 :

Tricky to mount under a 14" bandsaw. A bit cumbersome to lift the wheels into position as you will tilt the saw sideways while doing so. Once the wheels are in position it works ok to move the machine around, however, the wheels are kind of floppy in the up position and makes for difficult steering. My bandsaw features a cabinet stand with storage - this base blocks the door from opening. I gained mobility - lost storage space. Its strong and I can move the saw but the base is just overall not easy to use. I avoid moving the saw if I don't have to.

As I have limited space in my shop-I really love to put my power tools and work benches on wheels. I can move one out of the way so I can access the others.

Comments about Port-A-Mate Adjustable Mobile Base PM-1000 :

I purchased this stand to go under a contracter radial arm saw. I knew that I had to cut the legs on the saw stand to make it fit, the stand legs were 34" front to back. The whole thing fits inside the base now. The saw now rolls where I want, and stays put.

Comments about Port-A-Mate Adjustable Mobile Base PM-1000 :

Using my garage as a small workshop, it's hard to move tools around. The bandsaw was the toughest and always took two people. With this mobile base, I can move the saw into position, lock it down, do my work, and then move it back all by myself. I love it.

Comments about Port-A-Mate Adjustable Mobile Base PM-1000 :

We actually use this base for my wife's floor mounted 20 quart mixer which weighs about 200#. It works great for this. Just wheel the mixer out in the open for use and then back out of the way when done. The kitchen area is limited for space so we needed the mixer to be easily movable.
