Has all the features of the Model 4210, plus an additional CNC machined aluminum template for through dovetail and box joints.

If you've put off cutting dovetails with your router because of the complicated set-up of dovetail jigs, wait no longer. Porter-Cable's new 12" dovetail jig will have you up and cutting dovetails in minutes. This jig is designed with patented alignment lines and a router bit depth stop so set-up is easy. Simply adjust the template so the alignment marks line up with your work piece, set your router bit depth according to the depth stop, and start routing.




  • Jig will cut half-blind dovetails, rabbeted half-blind dovetails and dovetail dadoes

  • Heavy-duty cam-type clamps with sandpaper-backed locking bars provide a solid grip for the wood

  • Template is CNC machined aluminum to provide superior accuracy

  • Handles stock 1/4" to 1-1/8" thick up to 12" wide

    Fairly easy to set up and get routing. Once you've done it once or twice you've got it dialed. Not so easy to store, but it really should be set up on a dedicated table.A dvd or instruction set that was easier to read would be desirable, but it didn't take long to figure out without.

    I have a Leigh Dovetail Jig which I've had for almost 15 years and it is great. I teach at a small school and have recently started a woodworking program there. I could not justify the high price tag of the Leigh for the school so I bought the Porter Cable and am very happy with it. It is easy to set up, is accurate, easy to adjust. I have only made through dovetails so far but looks like half blind are even easier to make. The only issues someone might have is that the width of the dovetails are not adjustable as with the Leigh jig.

    The jig performs as promised. Just follow the step by step instructions and you'll produce a beautiful joint with minimal pratice. I suggest you make a few dry runs on scrap peices before trying it out on the expensive woods but I got great results the first time out and couldn't be happier with my decision. I considered a few of the other less expensive jigs out on the market but decided to go with the Porter Cable after looking at how easy the setup was. A few of the other jigs require alot of set up not only on the jig but the router as well. This jig is easy to set up as long as you have a router with a 1/2" collet. The templates are designed to work with 1/2" bits (everything you need comes with the jig. The bits, the bushings, everything) Don't do what I did and buy the accessories prior to buying the jig. Buy the jig first and then see what accessories you'll need. I also suggest that you spend the extra money and go for the 4212 vs. the 4210. It's the same jig, but for the extra money you get the extra templates and accessories which are more costly to add later if you want to expand the abilities of your jig. Highly Recommended

    Looked at other reviews before I purchased and I will agree with what I read it does take some minor adjustments and the instructions leave you with having to figure out what there trying to say but that being said after a few minor adjustments it worked great. I made 5 drawers after set up with no problem.
