Comments about Delta 1-1/2HP Dust Collector, Model 50-760 :

It's a great setup to add an onboard dust Separator to. I did it with mine and I'm extremely happy with how well it works and that it doesn't take up alot of space. Plus it's much more affordable then the new Delta 50-905, and probably works just as well.

Comments about Delta 1-1/2HP Dust Collector, Model 50-760 :

I've had this collector for over 2 years and it has proved to be a powerful workhorse in my WWing shop. I added a The Thien Cyclone Separator to the system to double the sawdust storage system. The Thien container is a 40 gallon metal trash can that rides on/in the frame beside the sawdust bag, the plastic one. [@]

Comments about Delta 1-1/2HP Dust Collector, Model 50-760 :

This is an indispensable tool in any wood shop and since I've only owned this one I can only say it works as well as or better than any of my buddies' dust collectors. I started with just two tool connected my planner and table saw. I was changing the bags (although easy with the snap ring design) quite often so I added chip collector prior to the collector. This is basically a 42 gallon garbage can with a dual port lid than sits passively between the tools and the collector. I added gates after I found the system "wanting" with four always open 4" tools connected and now I can toss small chunks of wood at it and they end up in the can (very little ends up in the bag at the collector. Delta's design overall is good especially the ability to flip the unit over if you're coming in with hose from the ceiling. Check for rebates - [$]

Comments about Delta 1-1/2HP Dust Collector, Model 50-760 :

I'm in the shop an average of 6 hours a day. The main problem is that the solid steel rod that holds the bag up when not in use, is attached to the thin sheet metal via a little 1/2 " bushing in the top of the collector. There is NO WAY that little thing is sturdy enough to hold the bag up, thus it just pulls the bushing out. I've put a couple of flat washers on the hole that the bushing goes through but it's a "bailing wire and bubblegum" fix at best. This hole is on the pressure side of the unit so must be sealed with silicon or something or else dust comes spewing out. P*ss poor design. come to think of it, EVERY Delta tool I have (3 of them) all have design flaws to a major degree. That's a bench grinder and also a mortising tool.
