  • KREG PRECISION BANDSAW FENCE - Many current bandsaws are sold without a fence. If a fence is included or available as an option from the manufacturer, it’s often flimsy and inaccurate. With their Precision Bandsaw Fence, Kreg offers an alternative for woodworkers looking for a solid, precise fence for resawing and rip cuts.

Comments about KREG Precision Band Saw Fence, Kreg# KMS7200 :

I am basically just writing this because I'm a little frustrated. I just grabbed this from woodcraft and as I was installing it on my bandsaw I came to find out that 2 of the hex bolts were the wrong diameter and thread so I am unable to finish setting it up until I run to the hardware store to get the right bolts. I'd be fine taking it back to woodcraft to get the right screws, but most of it is already attached to the saw and its a half hour drive to get there, so its more convenient to get them somewhere else. I just wanted to let people know about my issue just in case it happens to you, that you don't sit there and scratch your head trying to figure out where you went wrong. All in all it seems like it will work well when it gets bolted down and maybe I'll update this review.

Comments about KREG Precision Band Saw Fence, Kreg# KMS7200 :

After reading many reviews and talking with Kreg about how difficult it is to mount this fence on a RIKON bandsaw I decided to purchased the Carter Magfence. I found the Magfence cumbersum to setup, after finding the drift then placing the fence the proper distance from the blade was not easy. I returned it and purchased the Kreg, there had to be a way to mount this on my RIKON and be able to change the blade without removing the mounting rail. First I had to drill 2 holes in the rail to match the hole pattern on the bed, then I picked up 2 pieces of square aluminum tubing 1"x 1" 10 1/4" long. I drilled holes in the piece that would be on the left then in the right piece I cut slots. Make sure you leaves a gap between the pieces where the blade slot is. I used 2" bolts on the right side, this length slides in and out easer. To change the blade you loosen the 2 right side bolts lift out the aluminum spacer and remove the bolts, now the blade slides out. After replacing the blade replace the spacer and tighten the 2 bolts. The rail does not need to be readjusted. This a great piece of equipment, would highly recommend it to a friend.

It is very hard for me to rate this product as I could not install it on my band saw ( I have an 18 in.General) because the insertion slot for the blade is where the mounting bar would be installed. Nevertheless this product look very good and good quality as usual. I have returned it to exchange it for your new "Wood River V3" hand plane as recommended by Rob Cosman. I have always been satisfied with everything purchase from Woodcraft.

All major parts are excellent. It would of got 5 stars if it were not for the cheap nuts and bolts. Several bolts had deformed heads and bad threads. I simply replaced all of them with American made stuff. Other wise great addition the band saw.

The fence works just as is should. Easy to install, and easy to adjust. I have an 14" 2 speed Delta, and it works perfectly. Not sure of the issues on Rikon, but the fence is a winner. If you resaw, I suggest the 4 1/2" not the 7, unless you run "trees". Stay away from the micro adjuster, looks great but binds up and is just not worth the money.

Kreg - Issues with the Rikon BS

    • Changing Blades Difficult
    • Not designed for Rikon BS

Comments about KREG Precision Band Saw Fence, Kreg# KMS7200 :

I just purchased the Kreg Fence during a recent sale. Wanted to replace the original Rikon fence that came with my 14" Deluxe BS. What I noticed right off was that the Kreg fence will require removal every time I change blades on my saw since the removal slot in the table comes out of the front, not the side. No real way around this unless I mount the fence to the back side of the table...not comfortable with that. Also, the multiple holes are not designed for installation on the Rikon saw. I could re-drill, but am deciding if I want to remove the fence rail for ever blade change, or just go with the Carter Magnafence (which isn't exactly my favorite either). No issues with Kreg quality...I use their fence system on my miter saw. It's ok, not precision accurate mind you. So, I'm on the fence with this fence (pun). It will likely go back to the store because I will be patient to find a better after market design for my saw, or I can likely make my own fence that will do a better job. If you have a saw that this fence was designed for, I would say to try it. It seems to be a decent system, just not for the Rikon design. Kind of disappointed in Kreg engineering...if they are gonna be the "experts", then they should be on top of these kinds of issues. Seems like a few departments over there are asleep at the wheel this time.

Good, but maybe not the best for a Rikon

Comments about KREG Precision Band Saw Fence, Kreg# KMS7200 :

I bought this for a 14" Rikon 10-325. Woodcraft sells a lot of these saws and they are very good saws, but the fence is a little weak. I knew going in I would have to mount the Kreg differently since the blade on the Rikon is taken out at the front of the table. Also, unless you have a Delta or Delta clone, I think you need to drill additional holes in the extrusion. No biggie and I managed well enough. What disappointed me most if the length of the pretty blue fence. It extends to come up about 3" short of the end of my table. What I ended up doing was using the new Kreg fence, all hardware EXCEPT the actual blue fence, because the Rikon fence also fits the Kreg hardware. It's a nice set up, but not one worth over $100. Still, if you have a Rikon and don't like the fence, you have few options. Carter Magnafence probably would have been a better choice.

I wanted to be able to re-saw lumber for cost savings on expensive material and to totally maximize my yield. I just got the Kreg Band saw fence yesterday and it was easy to install and use. This fence works great on my 14 inch Delta Band Saw. I did obtain the Micro Adjuster and it works great; you have to make sure the fence is properly adjusted so the Micro Adjuster does not bind. Take your time on fine tunning for squaring the fence to the table and for blade drift and you will be happy with this product.
