The super-fine grit of Micro-Mesh papers will give all your pen blanks that "wet look" finish. Foam-backed ultra-fine grit 2" x 2" two-sided pads put a polished sheen on bare wood and a handsome luster on finish coatings. Abrasive crystals last up to 15 times longer than normal abrasives. Kit includes one each of 1500, 1800, 2,400, 3200, 3500, 4000, 6000, 8000 and 12000 grit pads.

    color ID is difficult after a couple uses....found that a marker ID on the edge is very helpful when the stack falls over on the lathe I couldn't do without this product

    This set is just what I needed to make my pens shine. I just did my first deer antler turning, and it looked more like marble when I finished with the 12000 grit pad. Showing it off generated several orders immediately!

    I've found that I can skip a pad when finishing a wooden object and it comes out just as nice. I haven't tried that on acrylic but I think it would be OK, as well.

    Not only can these be used for woodworking, but I have used them to polish stainless steel sinks. They take the hardwater, and minor scratches out very effectively. It does require some time and elbow grease though.
