Comments about Round Face Spokeshave :

I knew it wasn't the best, but I at least thought after cleaning up the machine marks on the sole and honing the blade it would at least WORK. Nope. and of course now that I've done all of that I can't return it. What a waste of money. I should have saved it and bought the Lie-Nielson or from Lee Valley. I am disappointed that Woodcraft even carries this piece of garbage.

Comments about Round Face Spokeshave :

Given their fine history of toolmaking, Stanley should be ashamed to have their name on this tool. I received this spokeshave with a sole that was concaved side-to-side, with heavy machine marks. The blade was not just dull, but was burred. I spent two hours tuning and smoothing the sole, and flattening and sharpening the thin blade. When I finally got the blade razor sharp and put the tool to use I tossed it aside. I have two other spokeshaves, and know what to expect. I'm ordering the Lie Nielson convex spokeshave. This review comes from a man who has operated two businesses over the past 35 years: Making custom furniture, and sharpening and repairing surgical instruments.
