    Don't get it

Comments about 8-1/2' Cutting Guide :

Wouldn't get this again. When clamped in place firmly on each end, the cross sectional stiffness of the device is insufficient. Even under only moderate pressure (such as using a router) the device flexes in the middle up to 1/8 inch. In order to get straight cut you are forced to brace the device at various points along its length. Go back to using an 8 foot piece of 3/4 plywood with clamps at each end.

Comments about 8-1/2' Cutting Guide :

Take a look at the local hardware stores for other options. I found a similar model that appears sturdier than this one for $20. An option to stiffen it would be to insert a long flat steel or aluminum bar into the bottom or along the side.

Comments about 8-1/2' Cutting Guide :

This guide is great, and so simple. On a long cut I HIGHLY recommend using a block of wood of appropriate length required, to be clamped against the center part of the guide. I found ripping a long sheet of lumber the first time, that I pressed against the guide too hard and it yielded a cut with a slight arc. Fortunately it was a slight arc.

Comments about 8-1/2' Cutting Guide :

Product is lightweight and easily movable, however, it is not as stable at the joint as it should be. I have to measure and clamp the center of straight edge to assure accurate cuts on long peices. Have looked at other long 2 piece straight edges that are sturdier by far. Would not purchase this product again

Comments about 8-1/2' Cutting Guide :

Good idea but not rigid enough. Will work well for drawing a line. Deflection is very bad trying to use as a tool guide at 96". Sorry WOODCRAFT this one is coming back.
