heavy duty drill, haven't used it yet as it's cold out there. With K-1 kerosine at $5.00 a gallon, will wait for warner weather.

Comments about #2 MT 1/2" Keyed Chuck :

Sharp; cuts like a dream and leaves a smoothe surface. Wood chips cone out at high velocity necessitating body cover and gloves. It is good in smaller places than the larger Lancelot blade...a great companion to that tool. Both are excellent for sculpture rough-out.

Comments about #2 MT 1/2" Keyed Chuck :

I bought a name brand chuck recently and was disappointed the first time I took it out of the box used it on my lathe. Not the quality I was looking for to replace a 30 yr old chuck. I bought this chuck and arbor for a 1/3 of what the other chuck cost me. The chuck is much tighter and has a great finish. I mounted the chuck in the lathe tail stock and then chucked a 3/8" dowel. It was dead on to the spindle on the head stock. Virtually no run out and grips my drill bits tightly even when drilling IPE and other very hard materials. This chuck does everything I need a drill chuck to do.

    It works, long shaft taper

Comments about #2 MT 1/2" Keyed Chuck :

This chuck does what it ia designed to do, but has a couple of issues, at least for me. I use it in the tailstock for woodturning projects. My lathe has a self extractor on the tail stock, so I do not need the longer shaft to help with removal. The long shaft does not allow it to seat at zero on the measurement scale. ( not a major issue as this is true of a lot of morse taper items.) Operating it is a little stiff compared to the Jacobs I use at work, but also the Jacobs chuck I use costs more than many lathes. If you do production work spend more, if this is for one or two holes for a small project, it will be fine. Remember, a Ford with get you there just fine, but do not expect the handling of a Mercedes.

Comments about #2 MT 1/2" Keyed Chuck :

Tried to use this in the tailstock of my lathe. The taper was too long when set at 0". Yt fit when I cranked it out to 1". Then the chuck came loose from the taper during operation. I am completely dissatisfied with this purchase.
