Product Information:

While the lathe tailstock is mostly used to support rotating spindles it can also be used as a collet for a drill chuck or live center. Inserted in the tailstock, a drill chuck allows your lathe to work like a small horizontal drill press. Drill chucks hold forstner bits, brad-point bits or twist bits for boring out lamps, boxes, vases, depth holes in bowl blanks and more.

    I like the chuck but wish that it was a little shorter. I have a 1014 Jet lathe and it is somewhat too long for it. It is a very nice chuck and would be wonderful for a bigger lathe It will hold a 1/16 inch bit all the way up to a half inch. I have used it to drill pen blanks and it works great for that.
