Crystal Coat is a liquid friction finish that produces a glass like surface on wood in seconds. Apply and buff while your project is still on the lathe! A mixture of shellac and water resistant Carnauba wax, just a drop finishes small turnings in seconds. Comes in a 6 oz. user friendly squeeze bottle for no mess, no waste application. For toys and carvings simply wipe on and hand rub or power buff to the desired luster.

    This new finish has some good qualities and helps to finish the wood-turned pens more quickly and still looks quite good; I will be comparing this finish to the Minwax Wipe-On Poly just to see if I can tell the difference.

    Works effectively and creates a great finish. I am still questioning its long term performance based on the application and mixture, however, it makes your projects look really nice. I put a coat on and heat it up pretty good then apply another top coat which consists of 3-4 drops HUTs to 2 drops CA Medium and apply that twice. Buff it out and you have a very good "protective" finish for a lef time.

    This is an excellent product but it's nothing new and innovative. 25 years ago I was getting the exact same results with varnish, shellac, and tung oil on my turnings. The only advantage I find is that this stores a little better than the 3 products I mentioned. All in all, it's a good product but just a bit pricey when you consider the cost of regular varnish and/or shellac.
