For grinding any length HSS blades, with a minimum 1/2" width.

Use this Planer/Jointer Blade Jig for grinding any length high-speed steel blade, minimum 1/2" width. Blades longer than 10-1/2" are relocated in the blade holder and ground in two steps. For use with the Tormek T-7 and T-3.

    This jig holds the blade very securely. It also maintains the angle of the grind across the entire length of the blade perfectly. This is the greatest challenge in sharpening a planer blade. Keeping a consistent angle across the entire length of the planer blade while grinding is almost impossible without a well designed jig. This one certainly does the job.

    This works great on my planer knives. The only draw'back' is you have to move the blade if it's longer than 10". Other than that they come out like a pro did it.

    The Tormek system and jig work, but it takes a lot of time to sharpen HSS. Touching up a 6-8 in. jointer blade is doable, but fully regrinding blades is very time consuming. Sharpening planer blades simply takes too long.
