Product Information:

Bloodwood (brosimum paraense) or "cardinal wood" as it is commonly referred to, is a medium to hard wood with red to crimson color and tight straight interlocking grain. Excellent for turning. Grown in South America. A bright, vivid red. Color can darken to a darker brownish red over time with exposure to light and air. Applying a thick protective finish, and keeping the wood out of direct sunlight can help minimize this color shift. It's no wonder that Bloodwood has grown so popular as an imported wood species, as it is exceptionally hard, durable, strong, and beautiful. It is used for both trim and accents, as well as larger structural elements in furniture. This stock is cut to size from quality, kiln-dried stock. 100 percent clear and sanded on both sides. Dimensions are +/- 1/8" grain runs with the longest dimension.

    Comments about Bloodwood/Satine 3/4" x 4" x 48" :

I was disappointed when I opened up the packaging and saw this wood. It is a nice looking wood with a rich deep reddish/purplish colour but it was twisted and warped beyond use in the intended project but I can still use it in other small projects and as trims and bindings on my guitars I build. Well, hey, it is a wood and woods warp every now and again. It's a luck of the draw really, and being subjected to pressure changes on the airplane during transit may have warped it.
