Product Information:

Developed by renowned furniture restorer and finisher Jeff Jewitt, these TransFast water-soluble powder dyes outperform any we have tried. Because the dyes contain no fillers or extenders, each 1 oz. bottle makes a half gallon or more of stain, nearly twice as much as most other dyes! Packaged in resealable bottles, you can use only the amount of dye necessary for the project at hand and not have to worry about the remaining powder leaking out of a paper envelope or absorbing moisture like other powdered dyes. Perfect for new work, repairs, or restoration, these deep penetrating colors can be combined to create virtually any shade without hiding the natural features of the wood. Stained surfaces can be coated with almost any type of finish to bring out the color you’ve applied. These easy to use dyes come with the best mixing and application instructions we have seen. Do not store liquid dyes in metal containers. Use the Lemon Yellow accent color for decorative highlights, to create pure colored pieces, for tinting other TransFast dyes, or to match hues on furniture when repairing or restoring.

    Easy to work with since it is water based. I added a little acrylic paint to take some of the "yellow" out. This provided a nice base coat for my future shellac and glaze top coats. It helps to raise the grain first by watering down the wood (1/4 sawn oak), letting it dry and then sanding it smooth. I finished with 600 grit and then applied the dye.

    I used this as the base dye under Bartley's Jet Mahogany stain to cause the flecks in white oak to pop and resemble Stickley furniture. I've tried many stains, including fuming, and this is the best combination of all.

    I use it in my model building of trans,fire trucks,cars,sime trucks,buildings,ans mississippi river boat, my wood is cut to 1/8" X 1/8" X 24" Idye the wood best thing about it the wood does not worp
