    Comments about Nagura Stone, 7/8" x 7/8" x 3" :

This is a great product for anything but razors. I was hoping it would aid my Chinese 12K when honing my razors. It is way too harsh for that purpose. It seems like nothing more than chalk - unfortunately not a fine enough chalk for work on a natural stone. After using it I had to go backwards and rehone my blade BUT it should work great on my knifes. I wouldn't use it on anything over 6k - maybe a 8k.

    Comments about Nagura Stone, 7/8" x 7/8" x 3" :

I originally bought this particular Nagura stone to create a slurry on my Japanese water stones, particularly the 6,000 and 8,000 grit King stones. I later found that they had the perfect width for also using it in combination as a slurry/flattening stone. After X amount of strokes on the 6,000 grit stone, I would take the Nagura and flatten the water stone with it. Every so often I would flatten the Nagura stone using 120-grit silicon carbide paper on top of a granite reference block. This way I did not need to flatten the King stone as often on the granite block. Try it and you'll be amazed.

    Comments about Nagura Stone, 7/8" x 7/8" x 3" :

The stone is a little softer than expected. However, lengthy soaking periods not needed. Must be flattened to make sure that stone remains flat. Due to surface size, one must be patient when using.
