Product Information:

Woodcraft leather bench strops remain the traditional honing system for carvers and whittlers because they're so easy to use. Prime the leather with the appropriate compound and hone your tool with a lapping "barber's" stroke. Prime leather stropping surfaces measure 2" x 8", are milled flat, textured to hold the lapping compound and are bonded right up to the edge of a hard maple base. Handled version has leather stropping on both sides for charging with compounds of different grits.

    I thought the leather was to have a smooth side and a rought side. i felt it was misrepresednted.
